Hiking on the 'Hönig' Mountain

Explore the most beautiful mountain for alpine flowers in the valley! Head initially to the district of Gröben. From there follow the climb through the Älples valley, keeping to the right hand side. Turn right (signposted towards Hönig) and follow the depression in a westerly direction to Satteljoch. Turn right along the Hönig ridge to the peak of the Hönig. Be sure to follow the red markers for some 300 metres from the cable car support on the ridge to the signpost for ‘Sattelkopf-Kögele’. Turn right to the top station of the Rastkopf lift and from there take the descent to Berwang or Rinnen.
Hiking on the 'Thaneller' Mountain
2,343m – Walking time: approx. 3 hours
Follow the gravelled path in the direction of the forest from the town hall to the Kaiserhof. Keep left at the fork (signposted towards ‘Thaneller’) and after 400m keep left again to go under the lift cable. After 200m (signposted towards ‘Thaneller’), turn right to begin the climb along a winding alpine route through the mountain pine forest to the peak (divine panorama).
